Reconstruction of apartment 1 + 1 and interior design in Prague-Vysehrad. Teak wood. Jungle scent and touch of exotic wood in the interior. Using solid wood in the living room interior, doesn’t necessarily make you feel like on a cottage. The studio space is located in a small historic house in Vysehrad. There was no amendments to the structural wall nor to the external appearance, so no permissions were required.
The house is not architecturally divided, but it radiates from its historical character. That is why we tried not to push ourselves with the house in the interior design and we chose a simple, tectonic expression and moderate combinations of natural materials.
Teak floor in the hallway and in the bathroom
Solid teak wood flooring is designed throughout the interior of the apartment. The finish was chosen by oil waxing. Such a surface can be easily repaired in case of minor damage, but its price is higher.

Library wall
The most important element of the interior design is a library wall with steps.
The library consists of lacquered white shelves with solid teak.
The grid of shelves is repeated on the wall and unifies the design of the whole installation.
Staircase design
Massive teak stairs are part of the wall of the library. Individual steps are made of different thicknesses, which are mounted on a white painted support beam.
Inset bedroom
In the gable of the house there was room for a built-in bedroom with a double bed.

Bathroom
Teak floor is repeated also in the bathroom interior. Sanitary ware fixtures are designed by Laufen Alessi and Kaldewei.
Entrance
In the entrance there is a built-in wardrobe and wall-mounted design radiator with a hanger Jaga.
